Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the game HALDEN (the "game") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. HALDEN is made by the HALDEN team ("we", "us"). If you have any question about this policy, write to contact@playhalden.com.
1. Information the game collects
- Sign-in information. HALDEN uses Epic Online Services, operated by Epic Games, for sign-in and online play. When you sign in with an Epic Games account, the game receives your Epic account ID and display name. If you play without an Epic Games account, Epic Online Services creates an anonymous identifier for your PC (a "device ID"), and the game uses the display name you choose in the game.
- Friends and online status. If you allow it when you sign in with Epic Games, the game reads your Epic friends list and your friends' online status, only to show you which friends are online and to send and receive squad invitations. We do not keep a copy of your friends list.
- Game data. Your progress, settings and player profile are saved on your PC. A backup copy of your player profile is stored in Epic Online Services cloud storage, linked to your player account, so your progress can be restored.
- Multiplayer. When you host or join a squad, the game uses Epic Online Services lobbies and network connections between players. Other players in your squad can see your display name, your squad ID and your in-game activity. Connections between players are set up through Epic Online Services and may be relayed through Epic's servers.
- Crash reports. If the game crashes, a crash report is saved on your PC. It is not sent to us automatically.
The game does not collect payment information, does not show advertising, and does not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
2. How the information is used
- to sign you in and keep your player identity consistent between sessions;
- to run co-op play: squads, squad IDs, lobbies, invitations and connections between players;
- to save and restore your progress and settings;
- to keep the game working, fix problems and keep play fair.
3. Sharing
Epic Games processes the information described above to provide Epic Online Services to the game. Epic's own handling of your data is described in the Epic Games Privacy Policy. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
4. Retention and deletion
Data saved on your PC stays there until you delete it or uninstall the game. The cloud backup of your player profile is kept while your player account is in use. You can ask us at any time to delete the cloud backup and any other information we hold about you by writing to contact@playhalden.com. Your Epic Games account itself is managed by Epic Games.
5. Children
HALDEN is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to its use. To use any of these rights, write to contact@playhalden.com. You can also withdraw the permissions you gave the game at any time from your Epic Games account settings (Apps and Accounts).
7. Security
Sign-in and online services run over encrypted connections provided by Epic Online Services. No method of storing or sending data is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information the game uses.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
